Short answer

Gravia costs nothing to use. There is no subscription for the terminal and no paid tier for the Data API — the official docs page reads “It’s free, there ain’t no pricing.” Your only real cost is what Polymarket charges: the 1¢-ish spread on the front market plus the small per-trade fee printed next to every fill in Gravia’s live tape.

Trading costs

Venue

pass-through

What you actually pay when you click. Gravia routes; Polymarket prices and settles the contract.

  • Binary priced 1¢–99¢; you pay the ask, receive $1 if right
  • Per-trade fee is shown in the tape (e.g. $0.03 on a $39.60 fill)
  • Spread is often 1¢ on the front 5-minute market
  • Settlement in USDC on the underlying market

What a real trade costs

Prediction-market pricing confuses people because there is no percentage commission on a notional. A share of the Up outcome trades between 1¢ and 99¢ and pays $1 if the outcome resolves your way. Buy 40 Up shares at 99¢ and you spend $39.60 to win $40.00 — the fill in Gravia’s tape shows exactly that, with a $0.03 fee attached. Small fills, like 25 Down shares at 1¢ for $0.25, show no fee at all.

The number that actually decides profitability is the spread. On the live 5-minute BTC market the book routinely sits at a 1¢ spread with 99¢ bid depth in the hundreds to thousands of shares. At 99¢ you are risking 99 to make 1, so a single missed resolution wipes out dozens of wins — which is why the Kelly calculator matters more here than on any other market type.

Data API: free, 100 requests per minute

Gravia publishes a documented REST and WebSocket API at docs.gravia.trade covering the current crypto Up/Down market, a market’s price-to-beat, market categories, user trades and on-chain activities, trades with markouts, markouts grouped by counterparty, per-profile category metrics, positions, concise profiles and taker tiers. Two WebSocket channels stream normalized Chainlink Data Streams prices and live trades — including unconfirmed mempool rows if you request them.

  • Price: free. The docs pricing page has one line and it says there is none.
  • Default rate limit: 100 requests per minute per key, sliding window.
  • On 429, honour the Retry-After header before retrying.
  • Most endpoints are authenticated and will not work without a key.

Getting a key or an access code

  1. Join the Gravia community on Discord.
  2. Open the #access-code channel and create a ticket.
  3. State that you are there for an API key or terminal access.
  4. Wait for your cohort — access is rolled out in batches as the API matures.

For the terminal itself, an invite link is faster than a code: it opens the access flow directly. That is what the buttons on this page do.

Pricing FAQ

+ How much does Gravia.trade cost?

Nothing. There is no Gravia subscription and no Gravia fee added on top of your trade. Gravia's own developer documentation states its pricing as: "It's free, there ain't no pricing." You pay the Polymarket market price plus the venue's per-trade fee.

+ Is the Gravia Data API paid?

No. The API is free during its beta, rate-limited to 100 requests per minute per key using a sliding window. Exceeding it returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header telling you how many seconds until the next request is allowed.

+ How do I get a Gravia API key?

Join the Gravia Discord, open the #access-code channel, create a ticket and say you want an API key. Keys are granted in cohorts while the API is in heavy active development.

+ What fee do I actually pay on a trade?

The fee is charged by the venue and printed in Gravia's live trade tape next to every fill — for example a $39.60 buy of 40 Up shares at 99¢ shows a $0.03 fee, while sub-dollar fills often show no fee at all. On top of that you pay the spread, typically 1¢ on the front 5-minute market.

+ Are there premium or pro tiers?

There is no paid tier today. Gravia does run taker tiers based on rolling 30-day weighted taker volume, but those are volume tiers with progress tracking — not a subscription you buy.
